The day’s first matchup did not disappoint as league-leading scorer, and former Brooklyn Net, Joe Johnson tallied 17 points and a game-winning 4-point shot to lead the Triplets to victory.
Tri State rode out a “two-man game” for the majority of the contest, as Amar’e Stoudemire and Jason Richardson accounted for Tri State’s first 28 points. The duo finished with 13 and 20 points, respectively. However, strong performances from Jannero Pargo (9 pts, three first half 3 pointers) and Al Jefferson (14 pts, 10 reb) put the Triplets over the top.
The Triplets and Iso Joe will look to continue their undefeated campaign next week in Kansas City.

Sunday afternoon’s second game featured a strong showing from former Brooklyn Net Reggie Evans. However, the big man’s 21 points and 13 rebounds weren’t enough to prevent the 3 Headed Monsters from losing back-to-back for the first time in team history.
Expansion team Bivouac evened out the season Sunday, thanks in big part to 13 points and a game-icing 3-point-shot from the shifty Will Bynum. Bynum’s handles, contributions from CJ Leslie (12 pts, 7 reb), and strong team defense helped curb the 3 Headed Monsters’ comeback attempt.
Bivouac will look to keep the ball rolling next week in Kansas City against 3’s Company.

Brooklyn’s final matchup repeatedly brought the Barclays Center to its feet. The final moments featured some exciting back-and-forth play. Ultimately, a 2-point free throw from the game’s leading scorer David Hawkins (21 pts) gave Trilogy the team’s second win. Hawkins scored 9 straight points for Trilogy toward the end of play.
The Killer 3s, coached by the “King of New York” Charles Oakley, were down for most of the contest, but momentum-swinging buckets from Franklin Session and Donte Greene provided a second half lead. The complementary play of Trilogy players Sam Young (13 pts) and James “Flight” White (10 pts, 9 reb) proved to be too much for the Killer 3’s to handle.
Trilogy will aim to get their third win in Oklahoma City next Sunday against Gilbert Arenas and the Enemies.

Game Recaps:
Power 50 (3-1) vs Ghost Ballers 36 (2-2)

Coach Nancy Lieberman and reigning champion Power looked to rebound from its first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon. Ricky Davis and Jamario Moon didn’t make things easy in the first half, with a two-man game that helped the Ghost Ballers jump out to a 25-20 lead at intermission. The team shot an efficient 8-for-15 in the half, including a 4-point shot from Alex Scales.
Power captain and BIG3 scoring leader Cuttino Mobley was sidelined with a calf injury for the game. However, the University of Rhode Island alumnus still managed to contribute, serving as a vocal presence from the bench, in what proved to be a chippy contest.
The verbal back-and-forth did not serve the Ghost Ballers as well in the second half. Beyond a few flashy drives from the always energetic Mike Taylor, the team struggled to find the basket. Meanwhile, Power hit 60-percent of its shots in the half and 51-percent for the game.
Ultimately, Power captain Corey Maggette – who made his Season 3 debut in Providence – proved to be too much. The 2018 BIG3 MVP jumped right back into form, pouring in 23 points, grabbing 15 boards and leading Power to its third victory on the season.

Enemies 50 (3-1) vs Aliens 39 (1-3)
Video Highlights: https://youtu.be/IWRCzABatHI
Aliens have established several early leads this season, anchored by the toughness of first-year player Greg Oden. Things were no different in Week 4. The big man dominated down low with six of the Aliens’ first eight points (3-of-3 shooting). But, the Enemies quickly responded with strong teamwork, ball movement and contributions from Craig Smith and Gilbert Arenas.
The Enemies’ kitchen was in full-service heading into the half, where Smith and company held a 25-18 lead. The squad came out of the break cooking. Smith showed off his scoring versatility, banging around in the paint and knocking down treys from deep (19 pts, 5 reb), while Perry Jones added to the mix with 13 points, 3 rebounds and one block.
Alien’s Ryan Hollins was on the receiving end of several verbal jabs Saturday afternoon. He responded with trademark athleticism and scored some much-needed baskets at the rim. It wasn’t enough to mount a comeback, however, as the Enemies’ mix of hard drives and open jump shots propelled them to their third consecutive win.

Rhode Island’s final matchup featured two squads hungry for their first win of the season. 3’s Company and Ball Hogs played hard-nosed basketball and kept things close in the first half. 3’s Company held a slight edge, 25-20, going into the break.
3’s Company refused to slow down in the second half, as Andre Emmett provided a spark off the bench and finished with 17 points. The Ball Hogs’ big man Will Mcdonald continued to be a force (18 pts, 4 reb) and crowd-favorite Brian Scalabrine ignited the crowd with a couple of buckets under the rim.
3’s Company also received solid contributions from Jason Maxiell and Dahntay Jones (8 pts, 3 reb), whose dazzling game-winner capped off a strong team win. The Ball Hogs and captain Brian Scalabrine will look to snatch their first win of the season next week in Oklahoma City.
