Plus, undefeated former two-division world champion Mikey Garcia returned to the ring after a two-and-a-half year absence, knocking out former titlist Elio Rojas via fifth round TKO.
Adonis Stevenson defends his WBC title against Thomas Williams Jr. July 16, 2016 on PBC on Spike.
Stevenson wastes no time getting into action and scores a knockdown in round 1. Williams comes back in round 2 and lands punches but Stevenson stands tall. In round 3 Williams and Stevenson exchange without hesitation.
Stevenson delivers a vicious left hand that knocks out Williams at 2 minutes and 54 seconds of round 4. Stevenson improves his record to 28-1 (23 KO’s).
Light heavyweights Eleider Alvarez and Robert Berridge face off July 29, 2016 on PBC on Spike.
Berridge flew from New Zealand to Quebec City last minute to take on Alvarez. Through the first two rounds Alvarez and Berridge keep their distance and feel each other out. Alvarez is unable to capitalize on his jab that he claims is his strong-suit.
Rounds three through six Alvarez and Berridge fail to land any solid punches. Alvarez attempts to work around Berridge’s awkwardness as a southpaw. In the tenth and final round Alvarez attempts to finish off Berridge but the fight goes to the score cards.
After 10 rounds Alvarez defeats Berridge by UD and remains undefeated improving his record to 20-0 (10 KO’s).
