#ThrowbackThursday: Thurman vs Garcia – Beyond the Beef (Sports)


The build-up for one of 2017’s most anticipated fights began in 2016. November 12, to be exact. On that night, in Philadelphia, Danny “Swift” Garcia defeated Samuel Vargas in a #PBConSpike main event. With fellow 147-pound champion Keith Thurman commentating on the fight ringside, he was brought into the ring to formally announce a unification bout after Garcia’s stoppage victory. And from there, natural fireworks were set off between the two. Now, four months later and just days before their massive welterweight clash, Garcia and Thurman look back on that classic confrontation.
