Durham, NC- Things are getting wild for the Durham bred rapper Harvey J as screenshots broke out earlier today of a tweet from the mayor of Durham Bill Bell. Stating that Harvey promotes “Violence and Drinking” in his music. He went on to imply that J is partly responsible for the current lack of music programs in the city.. DAMN!

For those of you who are not hip Harvey is a Carolina based rapper best known for his involvement in the Skrillex album Eggnog that released earlier this year. He was seen burning a contract a few months back that went viral online. Since then he has paired up under mentorship by Master P and has announced an upcoming project with Scott Storch! WTF? NC Rapper lights $150,000 record deal on fire after a Coach K Tweet, Calls It N***a Money

Atlanta, GA- Rumors broke out earlier this week that Durham, NC native “Harvey” is being targeted by the Atlanta label Quality Control after a (now deleted) tweet from Coach K surfaced online. Since then the ‘Make It Bounce’ rapper has claimed offers have swarmed in from all over the place but he is insistent on not disclosing the options presented to him. What has been made clear however is that a $150,000 offer presented from an unannounced company is not enough to fulfill the needs of the rising artist.

In a video surfacing on Facebook Harvey can be seen flashing a contract in the camera before setting it ablaze and throwing it in the ocean. “Ya’ll folks ‘finna learn to stop offering giving me this N**** money” he can be heard saying before the video ends.
